230kg of Illegal Substances Smuggled Through Fishing Boat From Thailand
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): At 10:30 am on October 22, at the Chamkar Krom waterway of Kompong Sdam village, Srae Ambel, and Chroy Svay communes, the Srae Ambel district police raided a fishing boat from Thailand with six crew members and seized 230kg of illegal substances packed in 9 carton boxes.
According to the villagers, the boat has docked at the waterway port for more than a month and smaller fishing boats have delivered goods in and out regularly from that boat.
The authorities have continued to investigate the incident while interrogating the six suspects and seizing their boats.

UPDATE: Koh Kong Drug Squad Seized 200 Kgs of Heroin
Cambodia News, (Koh Kong): More than 200 kilograms of heroin were seized by Koh Kong authorities, and seven male and female offenders were presented by Koh Kong Provincial Police at a press conference at the Provincial Police Commission on the afternoon of October 25, 2021, following a crack down by the joint police force on October 22, 2021 at 10:45 in the morning in Sre Ambel district under the presidency of Mrs. Mithona Phu Thong, Governor of Koh Kong Province.
As a result, the joint police force arrested 7 suspects, including 1 female and 2 Thai men. Confiscated were 10 cases of white powder (heroin) weighing 212.40 kg, 1 Highlander car, 1 truck and 7 mobile phones.
After questioning, the provincial anti-drug office is currently building a case to be sent to the Koh Kong Provincial Court for legal action.
