Thai Authorities Round Up 104 Illegal Cambodian Immigrants in Thailand
Cambodia News (Banteay Mean Chey Province): According to the Department of Education, 104 Khmer immigrants (63 men and 41 women) were detained by the Thai immigration police in Nang Ngam Men Sambo village, Tap Praya district, Sa Kaeo province. After the interrogation, the immigrants admitted to the illegal border crossing aiming to work in construction and general labor in Chonburi, Samut Prakan, Preah Nokor Srey Ayutthaya, Bangkok, Chheng Chheng Sao, Rayong, and Prachinburi provinces at a cost of 5,000 to 9,000 baht per person to the agents. All of the detained immigrants will be sent back to Cambodia through the Obei Choan border patrol in the Ochrov district in accordance with the legal procedures.
