Female Teacher Raising $15,000 for Flight to Australia After Losing Job and Getting Sick from Vaccine

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Hysterical, virtue signaling, anti-vaccine, hypochondriac blagger wants a free trip home in 1st class (plus a few extra grand just for good measure)

What kind of friends only ‘nearly’ take an almost dying saint to hospital?
I suspect it’s a case of she’s had the usual mild reaction to the vaccination, but her being ‘special’ she’s made such a drama of it that her friends asked her if she wanted to go to hospital? in the hope it would shut her the fuck up.

And a nice fat cushion of savings to boot. Flights aren't 15k... I think she's trying to appeal to anti-vaxxers in Oz.

@atst , November 1st is political speak from Morrison to show that he's doing his bit. The reality is that the onus is on the States to achieve 80% vax rate, then the States can decide whether they want to open their borders to international flights. Smoke and mirrors!
think you may be wrong (hopefully)

I wonder how these youngsters who’re overseas would cope without Internet for a couple of days?

No FB, no TikTok, no messenger, no email, no contact. I bet the majority couldn’t make a phone call from a landline to back home, I’ve actually seen people asking how they phone an overseas number of a western friend who’s in Cambodia - “Do I just call the number or do I put some other number in front. Please help!” FFS.
People of the world, spice up your life.

continue to serve not only as a teacher but always providing for my community.

... I dream of returning to youth and community work and enrolling in social work at uni as well as seeking mental health support.[not before time]

...just dream of continuing to serve community back in Aus.

Bloody nauseating do-gooder.

Remember, her, and her generational cohorts, will be in charge in 20 years time. That's a great reason to stop worrying about your drinking, smoking and shagging habits.

Quite a few teachers in TTP in her situation, I figured with schools opening up these things would go away.

I'm able to take up to 10k in credit cards back in Europe and that's with zero bank accounts there, I'm certain she could look into the credit card option back in Australia.

Username Taken wrote: Wed Oct 20, 2021 4:37 am Three weeks ago, I contacted Singapore airlines to find out how much it would cost to fly 2 adults from Phnom Penh to Brisbane via Singapore. Below is the actual quote from SIA:
"From Singapore Airlines Chat (29Sep21):
Earliest seats available for Phnom Penh-Brisbane will be on 08 February 2021 in Business Flexi fare at USD2873.40 per passenger as of now.

Total for two passengers will be USD5746.80 as of now."
Why are they offering a flight in February if this conversation took place 3 weeks ago?
How much does Singapore Airlines charge to travel 8 months back in time?
Scarier than malaria.

With just two donations in six days (100 + 25) that's not working.

Anyway, outing yourself like this on GoFundMe shows you're pretty desperate I guess. Spending time in Cambodia under the current conditions while being out of work ain't fun, especially when low on dosh I guess.

Another dream crashed and lesson learned. Having spent teaching English abroad for four and a half years and ending up broke asking for money. Sad. She's young enough for a new start though.
