Well it was just announced today that the restrictions are extended another two weeks until the 28th and that's been happening for what 2+ months now, every two weeks so I wouldn't hold my breath for things "returning to normal". I also wonder if the Cambodians that die of Covid in other countries are counted as Covid deaths here too. Everyday I read in the KT about a Cambodian or two that's died in Thailand and sometimes Vietnam. I even read a couple months ago about a couple that died in S. California. Keep hyping it up to keep the peasants fearful so the govt can keep them dependent on the govt for their health & safety.

I'm amazed ten people voted for six months or less... Have they been living under a rock?

I would think its not possible that tourism would ever return like it may have been in 2019. Still now everything is very unclear with the pandemic, but the scientists/infectious disease experts will be working flat out to protect and cure people of the illness, this would the most essential help, with a more healthier future for everyone and that of foreseeable travel.
But if countries are still going to see visitors going into quarantine and obtaining covid tests before arriving and departing, chance of lockdowns, also expensive all round limited travel, flights firstly and then travel in the country visiting. I would think for the western traveler if he/she didn't have an other purpose in the country, it would be a expensive and uncertain trip.
China still have their flights in and out of Phnom Penh, I seem to understand, but no where near what they once were. The Chinese tourists came in their droves before the pandemic, but now with things changed, such has the countries leaders making amendments on gambling, and how the people were treated by their own tour operators, also the unfinished or abandoned construction work. And I am quite sure the prospected visitors will also read and see the news of the criminal activities going on in the areas that they will be expected to have their vacations.
Overall there's not that much of an attraction for visitors just now, like there was in 2019.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

I've just put a link to this thread in my calendar for 12 months so we can see how it panned out.

I'm sure there were discussions in threads early last year on how long we thought Covid would last. Please post your favourite links for the lulz.

Not sure where you're coming from Chuck but my point was and is if they're counting the Cambodians dying aboard in their Covid numbers it has everything to do with reopening as it artificially inflates the Covid death toll. Does that answer your question?

Since when was it in anyone's interest to inflate death tolls? If anything, they would do the opposite.

Obviously you've been living under a rock. In the US anyone that dies from something else that tests positive for Covid is counted as a Covid death because the govt throws more money to the Healthcare industry. [Admin Edit: No problem you stating this, but you don't need to end it with insults. Knock it off. Thanks.]

Do You?

Has anyone else read daily reports about Cambodians dying in Thailand and Vietnam? I haven't. Maybe I have been living under that rock.

Oh, one more thing, the question was predicated on all restrictions being lifted by 1st November, which is still on the cards.
