"Disapppeared" Man Found Drowned

Cambodia News, (Banteay Meanchey): A man who disappeared from his house 2 days ago was found floating in a canal about 350 meters south of Kork Krol village, Srah Chik commune, Phnom Srok district, Banteay Meanchey province, at 3:30 pm on September 25, 2021.

Phnom Srok police said that the victim, Ngek Ran, was a 30-year-old man, living in Kork Krol village,Banteay Meanchey province. According to the explanation from his wife, the victim disappeared from his house at 8 pm on September 23, 2021, and was not found until at 3:30 pm on September 25, 2021, when she was informed that her husband's body had been discovered floating in the water.

Police said that after receiving information from the Srah Chik commune chief, Srah Chik police and Srah Chik health center doctors arrived at the scene to examine the body and confirmed that "The victim really died from drowning. He was crossing a deep canal while drunk, and appears to have fallen over and drowned". No foul play is suspected.

After the examination, the body was handed over to the family for a traditional ceremony.
