Speeding Landfill Truck Crashes into Sihanoukville Construction Site: 5 Injured
Another serious accident involving a speeding "out of control" truck occurred in Sihanoukville today.
Fortunately, nobody was killed in this instance, but some people have been seriously injured, and it is time to control these trucks which are causing death and destruction due to overloading, brake failure, and incompetent drivers.
Cambodia News, (Sihanoukville) : On the afternoon of September 22, 2021, a serious accident caused damage to four motorcycles, and five people were injured, including one seriously, when a speeding landfill truck failed to brake on the slope of Wat Leu in Sangkat 2, Sihanoukville.
The five victims were Kim Chantha, 28, with minor injuries, Mak Sophos, 35, and Oeun Channa, 24, and Sam Pov, 16. And fifth, the name of the seriously injured is not yet known.
The traffic accident was caused by a landfill truck which was speeding downhill when it collided with other vehicles and crashed into a house on the slope of Wat Leu in Sangkat 2, Sihanoukville. The incident at Wat Leu in Village 2, Sangkat 2, Sihanoukville caused at least five people to be injured, some of whom were seriously injured and were taken to hospital.
Prior to the incident, the 1-and-a-half-ton white Hyundai pickup truck (with license plate Phnom Penh 3F 1295), was seen speeding down the hill in direction of downtown Sihanoukville, when it collidedhead-on with a rear-wheel drive vehicle, and then continued on to hit 4 motorcycles without running out of speed, crashing into a construction site, and coming to a halt.
