If you mean stop the press reporting fake news, it's more likely than stopping the implied fake news.

Many of these gangs seem to have Chinese nationals at the helm. I was reading over the weekend about how Chinese APT41 has been involved in similar nefarious activity. The APTs are backed by the government and often the military. They are using Malaysian game developer SEA GAMER to create software with backdoors and make money farming game currency.

Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng, Minister of Interior, expressed his criticism on the US’s ranking of Cambodia’s efforts to combat human trafficking.

The Deputy Prime Minister made the remarks at the inauguration of a school in Kratie, yesterday morning.

DPM Kheng said that the ranking of the US indicates that the Kingdom is unwilling to fight human trafficking. The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that some countries don’t do the job of combatting human trafficking well but still get good marks.

He said that he was also surprised because as the chairman of the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking, he always cooperated with international partners, especially the United Nations and the United States.

“I am concerned about the terms of the assessment or the sentiment of the assessment, but nevertheless, Cambodia is willing [to combat human trafficking] and will continue to do so,” he said.      (Edited the next comment)

Kheng said that despite this, Cambodia will continue to sincerely promote cooperation with all partners. However, he stressed that Cambodia will not back down and will continue to solve the country’s problems.

Nothing is going to change, just because a bunch of schoolboy pencil-pushers decide to make a problem out of it.

People come here with all kinds of issues, forgetting that they are wearing forced labor clothes. And that they spend more jetfuel to fly here for a single seat, than the average use of a motorbike for a year out in the village. They should just arrest the whole fashion industry starting with the Italians. The rest of the overloaded post-modern narcissistic society will follow.

Ending call center scams is exactly the same scenario moved into the cyber domain. This is only possible because there is money to be made and people to be employed.

Call center gang operator arrested at Suvarnabhumi, following a very wanted red notice from China

Bangkok: On 22 July 2022, Thai officials arrested the operator of a large call center gang who will be sent back to Chinese authorities for smuggling Chinese people to work in Laos and Cambodia.

Today (25 July 65) at 5:30 p.m. Pol. Gen. Suwat Chaengyodsuk, the police chief, revealed that on July 22, he was notified by the immigration officials that Mr. Zhou Dawei, a Chinese national, who was the subject of a red notice by Chinese authorities for people trafficking, was due to enter the Kingdom of Thailand through the immigration checkpoint at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Therefore he ordered the Immigration Bureau to detain the suspect at the Suvarnabhumi Airport detention room.

Pol Lt Gen Suwat said that they were notified by Chinese authorities that Mr Zhou had a habit of leading Chinese smugglers across the border to work with call center gangs in Laos and Cambodia. He is a wanted person, much sought by the Ministry of Public Security and Chinese Immigration.

All is well in Sihanoukville, so do not believe the Chinese whispers. After investigation, Cambodian police have declared that: " no illegal detention or confinement of a group of 13 Chinese nationals by their employer was taking place in Sihanoukville as was alleged recently in an anonymous complaint".

Preah Sihanouk police clear casino after anonymous allegations

An investigation by the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration has determined that no illegal detention or confinement of a group of 13 Chinese nationals by their employer was taking place in Sihanoukville as was alleged recently in an anonymous complaint.

Speaking at a late press conference on July 25, provincial administration spokesman Kheang Phearom and provincial police chief Major General Chuon Narin said the investigation was prompted by an anonymous complaint from another Chinese citizen asking for intervention from the authorities.

Narin said the provincial authorities had received information along these lines twice – one through the police hotline on June 25 and a second was filed with the provincial governor’s office on July 18.

After receiving the complaint, the police searched for the complainant to get more information about the case but could not find or contact the anonymous person for questioning.

“We’ve looked into this situation and done some research and this is not a matter of confinement, but now it is a matter of us wanting to know who the victim is supposed to be, because we went to the site in person with the coordination of the provincial prosecutor and determined that it is not a matter of confinement, it is a matter of some people wanting to quit their jobs [at a casino],” he said.

According to the commissioner, authorities invited the 13 people identified in the complaints to come along with them to the provincial police headquarters to discuss their situation and 10 of them did so without incident, having apparently decided to resign from their employment at the unnamed casino.

The other three declined to leave the casino, claiming they had well-paid jobs that they were satisfied with and did not want to lose them.
