Cambodia News, ( Phnom Penh): Police reported that on August 26, 2021, a 12-year-old boy who was home alone, was killed in a rented room, robbed of property, money and jewelry, in Porsenchey district, Phnom Penh. The killer took the boy's body in a sack and dumped it in another room on the second floor, and then he escaped.

On the day of the incident, the boy was alone in a rented room, with his mother and sister going to work. The victim's mother said that while she was working, someone called to say that her son had been killed, but when she asked if she and her daughter could leave the factory, they made her keep working until 8pm.
The victim's mother said that this was a murder and robbery; she lost about $ 300 in cash, some platinum jewelry, and 1 mobile phone.

After the incident, local authorities and specialized authorities came down to search for the killer , the police arrested a man and took him to the police station for questioning.
After that, the competent experts and the doctor took the sample of the victim to check for Covid 19 and then handed over the body to the family.

How tough has to be the life of a single mother just trying to raise one kid in Cambodia ? I'm lost when it comes to the social ties supposed to help watch one self's back, where are they ?
