Foreign Couple Crash HENDRICK Motor Sports Car in Sihanoukville
Cambodia News, (Preah Sihanouk Province): On August 24, 2021, a yellow and black HENDRICK motor sports car, with license plate Phnom Penh 2BM 0024, crashed into a public light pole along Ekareach Street in Village 2, Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville Province.
Prior to the incident, the luxury car was seen speeding from Thai Bon Rong Road (115) down Ekareach Street, when the driver for some unknown reason turned the steering wheel and hit the light pole, causing damage to the front of the car.
There were two people in the car; one of whom was the driver, an unidentified male foreigner with minor injuries, who was taken to hospital, and the passenger was an unidentified female foreigner with no injuries.
Road traffic police officers arrived at the location to interrogate the suspects and witnesses, and brought a crane truck to tow the car to the station while they build a case according to legal procedures.

Hendrick. Lol. That’s the US dealer name.
It’s a Chevy Camaro SS. 750bhp.

You can have a flash car, but that doesn't mean that you know how to drive it.
FFS, Ekareach St is not challenging, even for a learner.
( For those who don't know the town, Ekareach Street is Sihanoukville Main Street. Big, wide, and lit up.)

First time I think that I've read "foreigner" in lieu of Chinese national. Changed so as not to offend what is the majority down there these days?
As for the Camaro, well you'd consider it a write off and recoup the loss through insurance normally but would the driver (owner?) have a Cambodian driver's licence let alone comprehensive insurance?
@Anchor Moy is right as that stretch of road is easy to navigate so I wonder if the driver was tested for drugs. He's also managed to hit the light pole when there looks to be at least a 20 foot or more gap between the poles. Piss poor driving skills and just goes to show what to expect when the new expressway opens up, this will be an almost everyday occurence.
Well at least the air bags were fitted and went off.

One would think drivers would be more careful with their cars during a time of car chip shortages, especially when driving a car that's already quite rare.

I laughed at that, but it seems Hendrick is a motorsports company that soups up cars:
