I'm not a fan of the cult but that's a very prestigious site and the building looks impressive. It looks more like a Mosque or Pagoda than a Church.

Glad you asked... It dates back to the 1800s and their penchant for polygamy. They tried Mormonespouses - more of my wives (Moronwives was a motion proposed by Elijah Moron but was never seconded. Elijah, and his brothers, Beckett, Eliza, Biscuit, Galilee and Galileo, were expelled, along with their 47 wives. An extra 'm' was added, immediately) - but that didn't roll off the tongue and they thought they might be nicknamed Mice. They tried adding more 'm's but that looked like they were thinking lustfully about having many partners, so they settled on Mormon and introduced Mormonism. To justify their harems, they declared divorce "evil", later to be adjusted to a "necessary evil", following an adulteress incident. The word adulterer means the same as adulteress. They currently go door to door to check how you and the good lady are getting along.tightenupvolume1 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 11:39 pm I have often wondered why they have the second m in the word mormon ?

I figure it's the mormons adapting to the local country's cultural sensitivitiesJohn Bingham wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 1:19 am I'm not a fan of the cult but that's a very prestigious site and the building looks impressive. It looks more like a Mosque or Pagoda than a Church.
Sort of like what the Golden Arches did in Thailand with introducing weird additions to the local menu..

How many Mormons are there in Cambodia? I mean, I know theirs is a proselytizing faith, but this seems super optimistic in terms of potential congregation numbers. Who is this really for?
