'American Dave' Isn't Welcome at Star Bar in Siem Reap

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. But would Steve and his old church story really have a full bar of people that enraged?

He tried it on me, was more entertaining than anything else. Unless he’s getting into some new more serious scams nowadays.

He's got more than one story

And yes, I think the right crowd would lynch him

Resilient little shit
He's been in and out of jail all his life. He was jailed in Siem Reap for a couple of years for stealing a handbag/ phone or something. Last time I met him he said he'd just gotten out of jail after being caught with some marijuana, but that might have just been BS.

He "went for a meeting with colleagues" at Star Bar. Don't they have offices and meeting rooms in Siem Reap? Or does he actually mean an after work boozer, not a meeting?

That's about the only part I find mildly interesting about this story. If you think the bar owner is a cnut, just don't hold your business meetings there anymore. If times are as dire as he makes it sound, that's the best punishment anyway.

The gay Khmer guy was mistaken for scammer Steve (who can normally be spotted at viva by psar char nowadays). His English boyfriend got all worked up and made a mountain out of a mole hill. I wasn't there but some mates were.

Steve (was William when I met him) doesn't look like the boyfriend of the OP, does anybody think they would be confused for each other?
