6 dead, including a 10-year old kid, in Plymouth shooting

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

6 dead, including a 10-year old kid, in Plymouth shooting

It is not being treated as a terror-related incident:

Family dispute?

That’s very unusual for the UK. Can’t remember the last time a mass shooting happened, that’s not terror related.

Just googled. 2010 in Cumbria and before that Dunblane in 96.

Most of the victims were not known to the shooter, so this appears to be a US-style random mass shooting. Five dead (plus the gunman) but many more injured.

Thankfully an extremely rare event in a country with very strict gun control laws.

RIP to the victims.

After these incidents the first 12-24 hours of reporting are either speculation or flat out BS. They know nothing until the police leak it and then officially announce it. However, they were very quick to announce it was not terror related.

The incident occurred in a small residential street and over two miles from the city centre. Anyone wanting to engage in a mass shooting doesn't start in a place like this. As the media is speculating, so will I: the gunman knew all his victims and were quite possibly his own family.

That was my line of thinking .... Maybe not family but neighbours.
It's someone with an axe to grind who got so pissed off with people close by he finally snapped.

The bit the BBC reported on an eye-witness said
One witness, who lives near the scene and gave her name as Sharron, told the BBC: "Firstly, there was shouting, followed by gunshots - three, possibly four to begin with.

"This was when the shooter kicked in the door of a house and randomly started shooting... he ran from the house shooting as he ran and proceeded to shoot at a few people in the Linear Park up from the drive."
Shooting randomly ... but was the house selected at random? I think not.

Yes, from the reports so far it doesn't sound random. Maybe an estranged husband, perhaps a neighbour or two in the wrong place at the wrong time. This is why the police were so quick to rule out terrorism (and the fact he is probably a white middle aged man with a beer belly).

Also from that witness:

he ran from the house shooting as he ran and proceeded to shoot at a few people in the Linear Park up from the drive."

Shot at them, not actually shoot them.

Says now he was related to some of the victims.

Likely they were in the house, then he shot some randoms while making some sort of poorly planned exit.

These days, they probably need to do so, just to keep the public overreactions under control. Any hint of terrorism and people see suspicious shadows, vigilantes see terrorists in every* kebab shop.

another bit of info
Another witness, Robert Pinkerton, said he "walked around the corner" and "bumped into a bloke with a shotgun". He said the man was dressed all in black.
