6 dead, including a 10-year old kid, in Plymouth shooting

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Comments on his Facebook suggest he shot his parents and his sister, plus two more people outside of the house including a kid.
Also that his dad had been trying to get him help but to no avail, apparently a history of mental illness.

Just rumors so far but doesn't sound all too far fetched.

"it is not thought to be terror related"

Is that code for a white guy did it?

Personally, any cunt running down the street shooting is a terrorist, I don't care if they come from Kandahar or Kent

I think it just means it wasn't some wanker with a beef against any particular race / religion / politics etc so there's no real need for society to get unnerved and expect a possible repeat attack somewhere else, or a retaliation attack or to ramp up tensions and suspician anywhere. If it was a family issue it most likely ended there.

Being of sound mind is a condition of issue of a shotgun certificate and also a ground for revocation. Some forces insist on having access to your doctor for such enquires.

The police will now be frantically checking their records to see if he has a licence and, if so, they knew about his mental health issues and did nothing about it.

Far easier to get a black market gun than a legal on in the UK tbf

But, ofc, an unsecured licensed shotgun would definitely be the next easiest thing to get a hold of

Shotgun licences are easy to get. Say you want to go clay pigeon shooting etc, have a secure house and storage facilities, no criminal record (even this is not a strict requirement) and be of sound mind. Satisfy those requirements and you'll get one.

Pound to a penny his was licensed to him.

In 2019 there were:

21,637 new applications for shotgun certificates, of which 97% were granted and 3% were refused.

Plymouth shooting: police reinstated gunman’s firearms licence last month

Oh dear.

Jake Davison had licence revoked in December but it was restored after he attended anger management course

Devon and Cornwall police suspended Davison’s firearms licence in December last year over concerns about his suitability to hold a weapon, but deemed him suitable to have his gun back last month. He had held a licence since 2018.

This is ridiculous. A new licence is granted and within three years is revoked. I wonder how many time the D&C police needed to be told about this guy? It's all going to come out now.

Anger management classes might be suitable for your average bad tempered asshole, that's another conversation, but NOT for a firearms certificate holders. The police, when making the revocation, should just of accepted they made a big mistake and closed the file.

Police will face an investigation over their dealings with Jake Davison, 22, who expressed sympathy for the “incel” movement and a keen interest in mass shootings. One resident from Plymouth, where the killing spree took place, said Davison’s family had sought treatment for his mental health issues.

Davison had shared hate-filled views on Reddit forums used by incels – men who express hostility and resentment towards those who are sexually active, particularly women. Earlier this year, authorities in the US warned that attacks linked to the incel movement were on the rise, and authorities around the world have begun to treat the ideology as a more serious terrorism threat.

Here's a picture of him.

OMG, was it 'TERRORISM' after all?

Incels: A new terror threat to the UK?

Why did Jake Davison kill five people in Plymouth? One of the key questions for investigators right now is what, if any, role his belief in "incel" culture played in his murderous decisions. The movement has been linked to serious violence around the world but, at the same time, experts in security and ideology say it would be wrong to call it a terror group. Incel is short for "involuntary celibate". People who define themselves as incel say they can't get a sex life despite the fact that they want to be in a relationship.

Most incels are harmless, if a bit pathetic. The small % who extrovert their resentments are quite horrible.

We just had one pop off in Japan last week.
