I think most people would class themselves as somewhere around the middle but either centre left or centre right. You should have added those as options.

Most people are uncomfortable labelling themselves as either Leftie or Rightist as it makes them appear extreme on either side, which most people aren't.

I had to choose Centrist but I'm definitely more centre right than centre left.

Mostly libertarian (90%+) and thus to the right, but with some oddly left-leaning beliefs. For example, education and healthcare should be free or close to it. Not because I'm a socialist, but because I think it makes for a more level economic playing field. This automatically would put me at odds of most Republicans, for example.
