Smart move by the authorities, if they had waited until nearer Xmas they would have lost the peak high season (barang) market.
And with the bars closed in all of Thailand until Jan 16, a wonderful opportunity to capture all of the entertainment market.
It will be mostly barangs. Chinese cannot come or are heavily disincentivised. Malaysians cannot come by land border. General covid paranoia of most Asians will deter them for a while longer.
Basically they stole a march on Thailand. Just need to promote it in the barag countries and tempt plenty of short notoce bookings.
Has the VOA been re started? Has the insurance requirement been cancelled? Can you book Any Hotel?

Yes, its widely known that 80% of single man come to SE Asia because of the temples and elephant riding.

What hotel? Rapid test on arrival, wait 30 mins and fuck off. No need for a hotel.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Sun Nov 14, 2021 5:30 pmyou seriously think that there are many "Tourists" that will now travel from europe and beyond, to Only Cambodia vs Thailand ( only 1 night quarantine), just cause they can have a drink in a bar?armchairlawyer wrote: ↑Sun Nov 14, 2021 4:55 pm My elite sources were correct (again)!

Re: Cambodia to reopen to Tourists
Some agents are claiming they can (I believe they are basing that claim on the DoI's allowance to convert for those who were "stuck" here on expired Tourist Visas) , most are saying they can't because the DoI are in the process of returning to pre-COVID immigration policies & procedures. Since the e-Visa has only been available again for a few weeks, we have not heard any first hand reports on whether anyone has managed to convert an e-Visa to an E-type Visa/EOS yet. If land borders reopen and VOA's are reinstated, then it will be a simple matter of a Visa run for you, or your passport.

What with this news and the recent news that UK will accept Sinovac and Sinopharm as legitimate approved vaccines upon arrival in the UK, it looks like things are starting to get back to some sort of normality. I may even pop back for Christmas at this rate.
Very good news.
Very good news.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never allow the dumb ones to lead the pack.

Don't bother for the following reasons:xandreu wrote: ↑Sun Nov 14, 2021 10:07 pm What with this news and the recent news that UK will accept Sinovac and Sinopharm as legitimate approved vaccines upon arrival in the UK, it looks like things are starting to get back to some sort of normality. Testing is still required on arrival, plus another one to return here, plus another one on arrival;
Flights are still crazy expensive;
Heathrow's e-gates won't work and you'll take 4 hours to get out of the place;
There are no Turkeys because of Brexit (further shortages to come);
It will be freezing cold, damp and dark;
Everywhere you go will be playing endless Christmas songs on a perpetual loop;
The people will look about as festive as inmates on death row.

Siem Reap International Airport Ready to Welcome Vaccinated International Tourists
AKP Phnom Penh, November 25, 2021 --
Siem Reap International Airport in Siem Reap province is ready to welcome foreign tourists fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Mr. Bun Ratha, Manager of Siem Reap International Airport, affirmed the readiness in a meeting to discuss the application of standard operating procedure (SOP) to welcome vaccinated tourists on Nov. 24.
Ensuring the safety of tourists is not only to enhance hospitality services but also to maintain the value and honour of the nation, he said.
Cambodia has identified a number of countries in the world, especially those in the ASEAN region, to come to the Kingdom without visa (VISA), which is the open skies policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
The meeting focused on operating procedures to ensure effective prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic, on the basis of the agreement between the health and tourism ministers, including the control of vaccination card, PCR test certificate (72 hours before arrival) and rapid test on arrival at the airport.
