And Cambodia is going to open up to Tourism this fall?
Re: Cambodia to reopen to Tourists
Cambodia ready for tourism, oh come on now let's be realistic! Unfortunately, there is not going to be herd immunity, and where are the tourists going to come from? What flights are available "coming and going" which neighbouring countries are open also to receive travelers.
First of all there maybe Chinese airlines put back in place, but that was a problem to China because when it's own people returned from holidaying in Cambodia, they did not return alone, they happened too take the Coved19 virus with them too. So the results were the Chinese authorities make isolate for 14 days before they can return home. At the same time migrant workers returning from Thailand also bring back the Delta variant just keeping the authorities here on their toes, and if that is not enough the medical staff at the quarantine centres struggle with treating the workers because their patients not only return with covid19, they, well it was quoted not too long back, that 90% of migrants have an illegal drug habit.
What will these prospective tourists do? Only recently places started to open, and recently we have seen raids by police for not following covid rules. Even now the big players and sport areas are locked down.
Where are tourists expected to visit? Angkor Wat would be good, the main tourist sight in Cambodia, but the city near to it has rising covid19 numbers and is on lockdown.

Always "hope" but never "expect".

The third dose is supposed to be the AZ and they do not have 15 Million doses to do the job properly. Third shot numbers are now at 800,000 with the AZ. They are about 14 million doses shy on this front.
Third shots with more of the same, Sinovac/Sinopharm, may not even happen. Personally I would prefer to go for an antibody test before any further vaccines. If there is no antibodies, it doesn't work. If there are plenty, I don't need anymore.
Any thought of a fourth shot with anything Chinese made is futile.
Much of the countryside is not in quarantine. Where do you get such information? They have a red zone in Siem Reap and a few pockets are under more restrictions. On the whole the country is fairly normal apart from silly booze bans and no more than 15 people indoors in restaurants. They should be so lucky...

Cambodia opening up here's my prediction, end of October the day I get out of quarantine and the bars will open for selling beer same time.
I'm standing up, so I must be straight.

You coming back in October? I would wait a while before booking, you might get a nice surprise that quarantine is all over, and sooner than we think.
As suddenly as it began it will end. Probably with little or no notice to the general public.
There will likely be some poor sods in quarantine at that time who find that that people arrived a few days after them have walked right out of the airport and into a taxi. Imagine having to finish your 14 days because the hotel wants the money!
Keep your powder dry ATST.

I don't think that too many Western tourists would like to go through that jazz to spend his holidays in a cesspool.AndyKK wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 9:43 am Cambodia ready for tourism, oh come on now let's be realistic! Re: Cambodia to reopen to Tourists
Which tourists will be the first welcome visitors, as Cambodia opens the doors of the Kingdom to foreigner tourists ? There have been some indications from government officials that the country may open to tour groups first to test the result.
Chinese may be first in tourism revival: PM
Hin Pisei | Publication date 19 September 2021 | 20:56 ICT
Cambodia's tourism industry is gearing up to roll out the red carpet for Chinese travellers after Prime Minister HE on September 17 indicated that the Kingdom could soon throw open its doors to international holidaymakers vaccinated against Covid-19 – starting with guests from China.
Cambodia Chinese Tour Guide Association (CCTGA) president Tea Kileng told The Post on September 19 that CCTGA members were raring to return to work and welcome back international visitors, especially those hailing from China.
This brings tourism employers’ gruelling nearly two-year wait to a close, he enthused, noting that a sizeable portion have been forced to look into alternative ways to earn a living.
"We are ready to welcome [Chinese] tourists to Cambodia, although we do not think there will be many at this first stage," he conceded.
He shared that virtually all CCTGA members have been vaccinated, noting that they had numbered 827 before Covid-19 struck.
Cambodia Association of Travel Agents president Chhay Sivlin said the private sector was eager for as early a reopening as possible to allow vaccinated foreign travellers to once more explore and experience the Kingdom.

“It’s all going to be quite exciting. I think we will have competitive devaluations of testing requirements or travel requirements for British visitors.”

Re: Cambodia to reopen to Tourists
only way it would work
tours,\
where you are all kept in a group from airport to hotel to restaurant to Angkor park-to hotel- to restaurant- to a walking tour of the market, ( no touching and purchases handled thru the guide) - back to hotel- the Korean museum- back to hotel- pack and off to the airport
ONLY the Chinese would submit to this

Re: Cambodia to reopen to Tourists
Didn't that shut down like all the other North Korean businesses here in Jan 2020?
