Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On July 9, 2021, at 11:00 pm on Street 592, Sangkat Boeung Kok 2, Khan Toul Kork, a Chinese man refused to leave Phka Khiev restaurant and to go home in a tuk-tuk with his 2 Chinese friends.


The two men insisted that he go with them, which led to a public altercation and violence, as the man resisted them and refused to go home. As a result, the tuk-tuk (Svay Reang 1P-8834) was damaged by the Chinese man.
Later on, police officers arrived on the scene and the three Chinese were detained by the Boeung Keng Kong 2 police. Meanwhile, the man who caused the altercation was still violent and he kept arguing with the police, until he got slapped twice by an officer. The identities of the suspects were not disclosed.

Foreign nationals brawl with police in Phnom Penh
3 foreigners caused a disturbance last night in Phnom Penh when they attacked a tuk tuk driver and then brawled with police.

The incident happened at 11:00 pm on July 9, 2021, along Street 592 in Sangkat Boeung Kak II, Khan Toul Kork, Phnom Penh.

The men – whose nationality has not yet been confirmed – were drinking in Phka Khieu restaurant.

Having become drunk, they then ordered a Pass-App tuk tuk to return to their home.

When the tuk tuk arrived, they men quarrelled with the driver and then attacked the vehicle – causing extensive damage to the tuk tuk.

Police were summoned and took the foreigners and the owner of the tuk tuk to Boeung Kak 2 Administrative Police Station for questioning and legal action.

Arriving at the police station, the foreign men suddenly attacked the police – who responded in kind with a flurry of blows at the combative drunks.

It is expected that the men will now face legal action – not only for their brawling, but also for their total disregard of the Royal Governments rules on mask wearing and social distancing.
