Foreign Vaccination Cards

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Foreign Vaccination Cards

Post by GreenMeat »

I just returned from the USA a few weeks ago and got my vaccinations there. I have the standard US CDC card with the dates of my shots and the vaccine lot codes. No photo or barcodes.
I'm trying to arrange a trip to Koh Rong and the scuba shop there says that the ferries are requiring vaccination cards before allowing passengers to board the ferry. Anybody have any experience with this?
Has anyone had problems with foreign vaccination cards being accepted by local authorities in other situations?
Thank you.

I can't help ya with your question, but good luck in Koh Rong, and be careful. Crazy shit happens there.

Sounds BS to me I got vaccinated in Australia and have a print out of my immunisation status haven't had to use it yet but I'm sure it will suffice.

I think they're referring to local vaccination cards.

Heaps of reports of businesses in PP and of ferries to the islands not permitting customers without a vaccination card, I wasn't allowed to enter PTC computers in PP about 5 weeks ago cause I didn't have one. Ridiculous if you ask me, vaccine card doesn't stop people carrying and transmitting viruses. As long as businesses implement & follow the recommended preventative measures, then it shouldn't be an issue.

Fairly certain your foreign vaccination card will be accepted, as long as it looks legit, and is in English. Highly doubt my vaccine card, which is all in Arabic, will be accepted though.

I don’t understand the no vaccine no entry mantra. As you say it won’t stop you carrying it and passing it on.
