Expect indifference and fallacies from the institutions that we have the misfortune to deal with

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Congrats to Phnom Penh Pal. Anyone that has dealt with pinheads in the system deserves a medal.

UK Embassies don't do passports or visas.

SwiftAsTHOT, what I am meaning to say is it doesn't seem a easy task here in this country, too marry in the first place, and a difficult journey if you would have a Cambodian wife and kids. It seems so difficult in some respects with authorities here, and also in the persons home country.
Also yes, I understand if you were to follow the correct rules and presiders it makes life easier, or possibly more sensible. But mainly whatever way you would tackle the move for the family its going to cost.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

Why anyone would want to return to the UK to live after leaving is a mystery.

Probably because he doesn't (completely understand, it's insane) want to pay almost 100k a year for schooling that's on the same level as public schools in the US, maybe even worse.
