Village Man Set Himself on Fire

Cambodia News (Battambang Province): On June 29, 2021, Ky Chhean, also known as Toch, set himself on fire and burned to death in Kompong Lei village, Our Da commune, Komreang district, Battambang province.

The victim suffered from mental illness, which made him believed that he was not from this village, and he kept calling the head of the village to notify him, until one day he told him that he would kill his wife and their adopted child, accusing them of not appreciating his efforts to support the family.
Out of concern for the safety of the wife and the child, the head of the village told them to leave the house and stay elsewhere for a while. Then on the day of the incident at 6:00 pm, the man poured petrol on himself and committed suicide, as his house burnt to the ground around him. RIP.

I reckon that the village chief saved that child and the wife by telling them to get away.
