Post by HappyChappy »

Guys my friend doesn't want to risk going to a center and getting locked up. Is there a kit sue can use at home so she can just self quarantine if positive??

No. Only approved government facilities can facilitate any type of COVID test, for that exact reason.

Home testing kits are not approved by the MoH for private sale/use. Only MoH authorised clinics are permitted to conduct testing.

In the early days they discounted anyone that didn’t present with a fever. What percentage of Covid positive and sick have lost the sense of taste and smell?

Some info here:
Loss of Smell Associated with Milder COVID-19 Cases
About 86 percent of people who have COVID-19 lose some or all of their ability to smell.
But the majority who lost their sense of smell experienced a mild form of the disease, according to new research
https://www.healthline.com/health-news/ ... d-19-cases

Research paper here:
Prevalence and 6-month recovery of olfactory dysfunction: a multicentre study of 1363 COVID-19 patients

Objective
To investigate prevalence and recovery of olfactory dysfunction (OD) in COVID-19 patients according to the disease severity.

Results
The prevalence of OD was significantly higher in mild form (85.9%) compared with moderate-to-critical forms (4.5–6.9%; P = 0.001).....................................
