Ax Murderer Returns Home Looking for Food

Cambodia News (Banteay Mean Chey): On June 26, 2021,at 12:05pm, a murder occurred when a man took an axe with him to kill an old woman in her house, due to a feud between the two neighbors over the border of their land.

Choy Seurn, a 67-year-old man, murdered a 74-year-old woman known as Sou Soung with an axe, and then ran away for two days. The suspect was arrested after coming back home looking for food to eat, due to starvation.

The suspect and the evidence were detained in Preah Net Preah district police station for further investigation.

I'd be curious to know the amount of land in dispute, and if there was an impending sale of the land. You'd like to think it must have been fairly significant for a guy to ax an old lady to death. But nothing is as you'd expect here.

And now who settles the dispute?

Seriously, these kind of needless killings would seem to set off a literal war between families. But does this happen in Cambodia? I know if someone killed a member of my family, especially with an ax, there would be more murders coming.
