Fake priest - could eventually be an interesting job for retirement
Re: American Expat David Drueding Dies in Phnom Penh Guestho
This guy used to come most days where I have coffee and was hated by all the waitresses for his obnoxious behaviour.
He was very frail looking, still smoking, and needed a walking frame.
I doubt many locals mourn his demise

Being hated by all is not a good sign, but what was this obnoxious behaviour ?
What could be so hateful about an ex-con fake priest from Florida who was posting about Jesus on FB in his last days ?
(And where does his girlfriend fit into this ? I thought priests were, you know, not into girls ? )

Who's going with fake priest?
I'm not sure, but I thought it was relativelY easy to become "ordained" in the States. Pretty much rules out the reason to be a "fake" priest.Cam Nivag wrote:It looks like he registered some kind of "ministry" in Florida more than 30 years ago

Good point. I had just assumed he was catholic, but it seems like he had a girlfriend and no history of child abuse, so he could be a priest for the Universal Life Church, or maybe he ordained himself when he set up that PO Box ministry 30 years ago.General Mackevili wrote:Kampong Spooner wrote:Good work, my spidey sense was tingling about this guy after reading the story and checking his creepy agenda driven website.

I was asked by the General to expand on my earlier post ... not much to tell though
He used to frequent the same place most days but cracked it one day and moved next door for awhile where he was usually greeted with trepidation as well
Ate brunch most days and never was a meal delivered without being sent back or loudly criticised over some small detail. The staff hated dealing with him as he would be very rude to them & insistent without ever tipping. I showed the staff the photos this morning and told them he died, and whilst sympathetic to his demise, it seemed there was some relief that he wouldn't be back. They were happy when he decamped to the place next door though that was shortlived.
He would yell and be quite abusive to the street seller kids and they were scared of him and kept a wide berth.
Sometimes he ate with 2 or 3 gents of his vintage that appeared to be in the education industry but primarily he ate alone.
Had a tuktuk driver deliver him and wait till he finished.
I saw him most days but never spoke to him as I disliked his demeanour
That's it ....
