Zhong Ying International School Accused of Cutting Teachers Salary and Compensating with Rice
Re: Zhong Ying International School Accused of Cutting Teachers Salary and Compensating with Rice
Also known as the 'Sunk Cost Fallacy' - to find yourself in a situation where you have invested time and/or money but instead of admitting that you've made a mistake or things haven't gone how you planned, you continue with the course of action rather than lose your initial investment of time and/or money.Dunderhead wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 2:25 pm Unfortunately many people fall into what is known as the previous investment trap, once they have worked for free for a month, they say". I can't quit I will lose a months pay". Of course they have already lost but can't face the fact, plus the Boss now regards you as a doormat.

That's pretty fucked. I know times are tough for some and they don't want teachers disappearing as soon as they are paid but you would have to be quite desperate to sign up for that sort of deal.Bong Kri wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 7:18 pmA lot of these kinds of schools keep 50% of your first salary as a deposit or whatever they wish to call it. You generally get returned to you on completion of your contract. So a lot of teachers dont want to walk out and then lose this deposit. Its how they get a lot of people to stay put and just get on with it.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Full on back tracking going on. I wish i screen shotted her now deleted post in which she said she would do anything to stop/help others working there. She has been sorted, stuff the rest comes to mind. Hypocritical.

So let me get this straight. The school did offer rice instead of salary but when the teacher exposed them for this on social media, they're worried about their reputation and the associated knock on effects and so, tail between their legs, they've decided to pay the proper salary owed to the said teacher.
Will the teacher now resume working there?

Would a telfer think twice about a baggy of free ice?

@ Bill Doe - You talk so disparagingly about 'teflers', not knowing anything about people's educational or career backgrounds, and as though you're some kind of nuclear physicist. Step off your high horse there, big boy. FFS.
Re: Zhong Ying International School Accused of Cutting Teachers Salary and Compensating with Rice
Probably would be considered on par with a nuclear physicist, compared to a telfer of course.
