Gift for elderly Khmer in failing health
Re: Gift for elderly Khmer in failing health
In Cambodia, the responsibility for source of income for elderly generally falls on the younger generation of the family.yochigga wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 11:03 pm
These are some good ideas. He will be happy with the photo, as well as his family. It'll bring back good memories of his better days. The family can then keep it as a reminiscent of their loved one, and of you as the giver. As for donation, it'll be helpful for the family, especially if he's their only source of income in his household. But yes maybe better if you give it at the funeral, and not on your visit.

I know. Hence why I suggested to give it at the funeral. A little donation could act as some kind of a "kickstart" for the whole family, or just some additional help given the younger gen had started working, a business, etc.The Judge wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 8:20 amIn Cambodia, the responsibility for source of income for elderly generally falls on the younger generation of the family.yochigga wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 11:03 pm
