Takeo Market Stall Catches Fire
Cambodia News, (Takeo province): According to reports, a fire broke out at 8:00 pm on May 29, 2021, in a stall in Ang Ta Som market, Takeo province, and the fire brigade was intervening at the scene.
The fire brigade were called to the market to extinguish the flames after local people detected smoke and a smell of burning. The reason for the fire outbreak is suspected to be an electrical short circuit, but this has yet to be confirmed. Fortunately nobody was injured, but the stall holder lost material goods in the fire.

Re: Takeo Market Stall Catches Fire
How many times do we read of market fires, and the cause is electrical. Due to reading also about the closed markets of late because they harbour the virus, it may be worth burning them all down and starting a new.

While Kandal Marker was closed they took the opportunity to demolish quite a few of the old wooden stalls and rebuild them.

Re: Takeo Market Stall Catches Fire
Yea most likely electrical, this could simply be solved if they used three-prong outlets with a ground instead of the old two-prong outlet style. It's a simple fix I wonder why this has never caught on in Asia.
Re: Takeo Market Stall Catches Fire
But would the new ones be any better than the old ones? They don't use ground wire here.

Just glad it was an outdoor fire, not something indoors and more dangerous.
Re: Takeo Market Stall Catches Fire
You have a valid point, electrical faults "no". But they would be cleaner.
