Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): Law enforcement forces in cooperation with the criminal police force of the Ministry of Interior chased two suspects after they seized a mobile phone from a foreigner* walking on the street.

The incident happened at 4:30 pm on May 25, 2021 at the corner of Norodom Blvd., Street 240, Sangkat Chaktomuk, Khan Daun Penh.

The first suspect, Som Chan, 20 years old, unspecified occupation, living in Sangkat Kilo 6, Khan Russey Keo, Phnom Penh, was driving the motorcycle. The second suspect, Sok Sopheak, 16 years old, unreliable occupation, living in Sangkat Kilometer 6, Khan Russey Keo, snatched the phone.


According to the Criminal Police Department, while the specialized force was patrolling in the local area they detained two suspects riding a black Aspen Beach motorcycle, with license plate Phnom Penh 1BT-5712, who had snatched a phone from the hands of a foreigner walking along the corner of Street 288 and Street 63, in Sangkat Boeung Keng Kang I, Khan Boeung Keng Kang. Police gave chase and captured the two men at in front of Lee Apartments in Daun Penh District.

Currently, the two suspects, including the motorcycle, were detained by the police at the Boeung Keng Kang District Police Inspectorate for processing.
