Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A report was posted on social media that a foreign woman, who was ill, died in a car on the way to hospital in Phnom Penh. Her friends did not know what to do with the body, so a local man who spoke English directed them to Wat Nhean Rainsy. According to the report, the monks refused the people entry to the pagoda because they were afraid of Covid-19, and the body did not have a health certificate. The incident took place at 12:30 AM on May 19. 2021, in front of Wat Nhean Rainsy in Sangkat Toul Sangke 1, Khan Russey Keo.

A woman who had a serious illness was taken by relatives to Calmette Hospital, but the disease was so severe that she died halfway to the hospital.
According to a source from a Cambodian man who speaks a foreign language, who asked not to be named, according to a group of men who were friends of the victim, they drove the woman to Calmette Hospital for treatment because she was very ill, but they could not describe the woman's symptoms. Then she died suddenly in the car before they arrived at the hospital. So, they turned around and returned to their house in Borey Piphob Thmey, where they asked the Cambodian neighbor what they should do with the body. Out of pity for them, he said that he would help them to notify authorities and told them to take the body to Wat Nhean Rainsy near their Borey.

But the monks would not open the door, because the foreigners did not have the proper documents, and they were afraid of contracting Covid-19. The body and the relatives were not allowed to enter the pagoda, because there was no permit stating the cause of death, and it is feared that the deceased may have died of Covid-19.

Even now, (at time of writing) the body has not been identified because the authorities have not yet dared to examine it or question the relatives until the medical team have taken a sample to test for Covid-19 and they have the result.

The deceased tested positive for morphine.
I've noticed a recent spate of "tested positive for..." from the competent authorities in relation to deaths. Is "tested positive" the new "heart attack" ?

If she had cervical cancer she might’ve been taking the morphine for pain control. It doesn’t necessarily mean she died from it. The “heart attack“ rubber stamp strikes again.
she was quite pretty and looked older
she knew only what had been told her

I just realized I knew this woman, and apparently she did have terminal cancer.
