FDA approves new nasal spray medication for treatment-resistant
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved Spravato (esketamine) nasal spray, in conjunction with an oral antidepressant, for the treatment of depression in adults who have tried other antidepressant medicines but have not benefited from them (treatment-resistant depression). Because of the risk of serious adverse outcomes resulting from sedation and dissociation caused by Spravato administration, and the potential for abuse and misuse of the drug, it is only available through a restricted distribution system, under a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS).

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On the morning of 13 June 2023, the Phnom Penh Municipal Court of Appeal adjourned the appeal hearing of a Chinese national who was previously sentenced by the lower court to 30 years in prison for drug trafficking.
The judge did not give a reason for the last-minute adjournment which was due to be heard today.
Mr. Sous Sam Ath, President of the Trial Chamber, stated that the accused was LIU JIE, a 40-year-old Chinese man who was sentenced by the Takeo Provincial Court in 2022 to 30 years in prison for illegal drug trafficking in contravention of Article 40 of the Law on Drug control. He was arrested on September 4, 2021, at the point of Street 111, Sangkat Boeung Prolit, Khan 7 Makara, Phnom Penh.
