Re: Advise me please
COVID aside, as that seems to be a worldwide problem, to varying degrees.Covid and $2K quarantine (times 2)
$2000 quarantine each is not quite the whole story.
You do get some of it back. It varies. I got a little over $500 back, IIRC.
You would be sharing with your girlfriend probably, not with separate rooms. Unless you wouldn’t want to shacked up in a confined space for two weeks together. Technically, they’d be charging only one room, not two.
It’s 2 weeks. Potentially crap food, potentially not too bad at all. For the two of you in quarantine, it would probably cost not much more than $2000 together, but you might have to put the full $4000 upfront.
I’d like to know why not Vietnam, though. Please, start another thread if you like. I’m looking at possible options for work in South East Asia, and Saigon and Hanoi might feature. So I would like to know the good and the bad, recent experiences.

Have you got any feed back from him? I would be interested to know. I checked out Mexico as an easy cheap escape plan if things go down the tubes here. I suggested the OP should check out Mexico for the reasons given in my previous post. i.e. there is no problem with visas and quarantine etc and given the OP lived in Spain I assume he speaks Spanish.

Why do you hate Vietnam? All places are not themselves given the covid outbreaks all over the world.dullretard wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 1:53 pm I am in Vietnam and I hate it
I have lived here with my gf (Ph) and 2 dogs for nearly 3 years, hot on the heels of 8+ years in Spain.
I hate living in Vietnam - not gonna explain it, just do.
I wanna get out . NOW. But where to? I'd planned on escaping back to the KoW, but you know, Covid and $2K quarantine (times 2)
Where can I go? Any sane suggestions welcomed.
I have ruled out the UK - hard to get visas for brown people there and cost to transport two dog is prohibitive; Philippines - Covid out of control; Thailand - Covid

Re: Advise me please
I've recently been trying to find suitable solution to a problem similar to your own when I've came across pieces of advice from different places. One being.
“Pain in life is certain, suffering is optional.”
I guess it's about choice. In the times we feel hopeless, pissed off or fed up about our current situation, we ultimately control to what extent the situation affects or torments us. With the present travel restrictions and costs involved at the moment as they are, you may be better advised to travel inside your self for a while and do some holidaying there. I'm presently trying to be the Zen man on the mountain (with varying degrees of success) because it seems to me I have no other option.
