Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Giovani was found floating in shallow waters between the old bridge and the party boats. He was a good swimmer.
Any word on the last person to see him alive?
Many have seen him last as he was always on the streets. Only one thing is sure: he didn't go for a swim wearing shoes and face mask.
Maybe he was under the influence of drugs and or alcohol (or both)

still no information about where in Italy he is from? Still no news in Italy about his death which is very strange.
Why should they write about him in Italian newspapers? He was living in Cambodia since nearly 10 years and his death officially is by drowning, so nothing really newsworthy for Italian Press. This would only change if foul play would come into the picture

Yes, to some extent. For example a young Yemeni committed suicide in the Tonle Sap yesterday and they managed to extract enough urine to do a positive test for Methamphetamine. The man was found just a few minutes after he had drowned himself though.

Methamphetamine dont lie it really is one of the easiest drugs to tell if someone is on it, they all end up looking the same! I remember this Swedish kid that owned a bar on 130 for about a week every time I would come back to Cambodia he would look more and more like the living dead.

You know him, he was a drug user? And he was always on the streets, homeless?
