Cambodia News, (Kampong Chhnang): The Governor of Samaki Meanchey District, Mr. Vorn Sopha, Kampong Chhnang Province, is accused of using an AK-47 rifle to shoot a bullock dead, on the evening of April 30, 2021 in front of the district hall.

The owner of a herd of 10 cattle grazing in the Samaki Meanchey district hall said that they often went to graze by the district hall, but nearby residents confirmed to police on May 1, 2021, that at around 3 pm on April 30, 2021, they heard two gunshots by the hall and saw the cattle run away. A young bull was found lying dead on the ground with a shot to its head.

The police who went to investigate claimed that the district governor did not intend to shoot the cows of the villagers, but he shot the ground with an AK-47 to scare the cattle, and the bullet was deflected and hit the bull by mistake.
Finally, an agreement was reached whereby the District Governor has accepted to pay 4 million riel to the owner of the bull in compensation.

On the morning of May 1, 2021, the police of Kampong Chhnang Provincial Police, led by Brigadier General Pol Vuthy, confiscated an AK-47 assault rifle and a machete from District Governor Vorn Sopha.

Why did he have a firearm? Is he going to be prosecuted for having and discharging an illegal firearm?
And they wonder why nobody has any faith in the competent authorities.

Amazing, isn't it. Especially as the ground was probably soft, not concrete.

I love the white dots covering the bullet hole. Was that to protect the feelings of the relatives? Maybe Darknet CEONews?

As an aside, perhaps they should adopt firing at the ground as standard procedure when having firefights with Chinese drug gangs, they may have more success.
