My business visa is soon due for renewal.

As it seems likely that the current lockdown is being extended, what is the current renewal procedure for business visas?

As far as I am aware, tourist visas are being extended automatically, is that the same procedure here for the time being?
Agencies I have asked 3 days ago, did NOT have an update on this and are themselves unable to go to the Department of Immigration.
Maybe an online option for renewals during this special lockdown situation where the required hard copies and the actual visas are later exchanged against the receipt?

Visas are being renewed as normal in my experience. Find a competent agent that is working.

Stories have surfaced of agents that have suddenly closed with no warning and no way of contacting them, leaving foreigners in limbo and without their passport. I'd do some thorough checks before handing my passport over to anyone if I were you.

Silly topic. I am sure we can rely on the competent authorites to have thought this through and will, no doubt, issue a policy paper soon ti deal with this anomaly.

The situation in my area (no red zone) is de facto that I can't leave this part of town to go to the Department of Immigration (DOI), nor am I allowed to do so for this purpose (as far as I am aware). This is not nice, but I get the point that this helps the virus from spreading further. Likewise agents are NOT allowed to travel under the lockdown, therefore they can't pick up my passport or go there on my behalf. This could explain that they can't return the passports, currently, however not the lack of response. A friend of mine contacted the DOI and they did not have an update on the current situation after 1 week into the lockdown, neither had the visa agents. I would expect that DOI will issue an update, if the lockdown gets extended, because its duration would then render the usual renewal window of 1 month for visas impossible.

Anyone in the same situation with more insights?

Just to update you guys. I had my ER renewed in the middle of lockdown no issues. Agent was New New on Monivong by the 184 intersection.
