Whatzup - Breaking Cambodia Covid News on Outbreaks and Lockdowns
Re: Whatzup - Breaking Cambodia Covid News on Outbreaks and Lockdowns
Has there ever been a vaccine that requires to be given 5 times is less than 2 years to retain efficacy?
Has any human ever been vaccinated with the same vaccine 5 times i.e. has anyone ever taken 5 x Typhoid, or Tetanus vaccine shots etc within 2 years just to see what happens?
I can't help thinking people could be endangering their wonderfully fantastic natural immunity system with a brand new vaccine.
I won't be getting anymore thank you very much.

@Doc67 A vaccine is a blueprint of a disease that's been modified to be much weaker. Given that Covid 19 has mutated rapidly and repeatedly and that these vaccines reached the market in record time, the previous fastest took 4.5 years, I'm not surprised that we're advised to acquire boosters.
There are many vaccines that require 3 doses followed by boosters such as Hep B, Rabies and Jab B Encephalitus. The booster schedule for covid is more frequent but not that unusual.
Also you don't need 5 doses to be considered fully vaccinated. The entry requirements for Cambodia consider a person to be fully vaxxed after 2 doses.

Scarier than malaria.

Firstly, the vaccine was made for a virus that's now mutated so much what's the point of taking any more of it. Secondly, what is has mutated into, Omicron and all it's new variants, is far milder and had it started life that way we never would have had to go through lock downs etc.ali baba wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 11:55 am @Doc67 A vaccine is a blueprint of a disease that's been modified to be much weaker. The other vaccines may have regimens of 3 doses, but they are all close together. But when are those boosters required? 10 Years? 15 years? Not every 6 months.
Finally, it is a contradiction that say a person is fully vaccinated if they keep telling people their booster is due. They have millions of doses running out of date and they need arms to stick them into.

That's once you've been exposed. The preventative protocol is 2 shots on day 0 and 7.
And, Rabies vaccine stops you getting rabies, Covid vaccine does not prevent infection.

Those CDC guidelines are pretty revolutionary, and far from accepted worldwide. And they contain a contradiction:Doc67 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 7:57 pmThat's once you've been exposed. The preventative protocol is 2 shots on day 0 and 7.

Certain people with a higher risk for rabies exposures, such as those who work with potentially infected animals, are recommended to receive vaccine to help prevent rabies if an exposure happens.
AFAIK the second is the norm worldwide. If you have received rabies vaccination in the past, you typically need only 2 doses of rabies vaccine after an exposure.
The general guidelines seem to be: rabies vaccine does stop you from getting it, when it's given after exposure. Pre-exposure vaccinations offer limited guarantees only, but buy you time (to get a post exposure vaccination) and forfeit the need to get antibodies (MARIG) which are hard to find and reduce the number of post-exposure vaccinations needed (2 versus 4/5).
For sure a double rabies shot doesn't give you life long protection.

This was in the Khmer Times today.
( is good the first 20 shots will be free ).
Royal Government to continue providing free COVID-19 vaccines to people
Khmer Times
The Royal Government will continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines to its people and all foreign nationals in Cambodia free-of-charge even though the required doses for each of them rise to 20.

Statements like this make it clear you don't understand how medicine or statistics work. Possibly both. There's been much discussion about the efficacy of vaccines over the past 2 years and most people recognise the value of reducing their risk of death and serious illness. If the efficacy falls from 99% to 66% it still has value (hypothetical numbers).
Fun fact: A malaria vaccine was released recently which requires 4 doses and provides 36% efficacy making it pointless in your eyes and a medical miracle to those who value the millions of lives it could save.

People get annual flu vaccines if they choose. I don't have a problem with people updating their protection to covid.Secondly, what is has mutated into, Omicron and all it's new variants, is far milder and had it started life that way we never would have had to go through lock downs etc.
No one has been told their booster is due. Vaccination is completely voluntary in Cambodia and you are free to decline or even just ignore the offer to get a booster. Finally, it is a contradiction that say a person is fully vaccinated if they keep telling people their booster is due. They have millions of doses running out of date and they need arms to stick them into.
Scarier than malaria.
