Australia offers Cambodia 2.3 million doses of Pfizer vaccine
Prime Minister HE says the Covid vaccines will start arriving on Boxing Day.
By UCA News - December 23, 2021
Australia will deliver 2.3 million Covid-19 vaccines by the end of the year, living up to promises made to Prime Minister HE earlier this year.

HE said the vaccines would arrive on Boxing Day and Dec. 28 after he warned Australia he would purchase three million doses of Chinese made-Sinovac if Canberra failed to deliver on time.

The premier has also said Cambodians would receive a fourth booster shot following a rapid rollout of a vaccination program, which has resulted in an end to lockdowns and the Nov. 1 opening of the country in a bid to revive a pandemic-crushed economy.

Shit loads.
In a way I think it’s the best way to just get on with it and let it (and any variations) run it’s course, once people have received their jabs.
People of the world, spice up your life.

Dissapointing (sic) less than 50,000 adolescents turn up to receive booster dose against COVID-19

Monday being the first day for the administration of booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine to adolescents aged 12 to 18 received less than encouraging result as less than 50,000 turned up to get their shots.

This is despite some 1,730,235 of them having received their second dose and a bulk of them would now be eligible for the booster dose to strengthen and enhance their immune system against new variants of the coronavirus.

Despite efforts by the authorities concerned, Ministry of Health as well as Phnom Penh authorities, awareness, lack of venues for the booster doses and apathy seem to have immersed itself into the adolescents.

Of the four categories of age group who were eligible for the COVID-19 vaccines, only the adolescents have yet to reach the targeted number of 1,827,348 with 99.13 percent or 1,811,538 getting their first dose.

Compared against the second dose, more than 81,000 of the adolescents have yet to get their second dose, a disturbing state of affairs which must be addressed by the relevant authorities.

More extreme measures must be adopted to ensure that all those who are eligible to get vaccinated, in whichever age group targeted, are indeed vaccinated and complete their course of vaccinations to have protection against COVID-19 and its variant mutants.

Three other age groups, the adults above 18 years and whose campaign started on February 10 have crossed the 100 percent vaccinated mark to reach 101.55 percent or 10,154,579 people of the targeted 10 million people, based on 2019 census.

Of this, 9,806,480 have received their second dose and here again, there is a shortfall of more than 348,000 adults who have not been fully vaccinated yet despite the long time lapse.

Analysts say that the opening of Cambodia, the bringing of COVID-19 under control by the Government in a quick and efficient manner has created a false sense of security for the unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated as they probably felt that since everything was back to the old ways, new normal or old, there is no need for them to get vaccinated.

“They are however, ignoring or overlooking the fact that many of those who got infected have not been vaccinated and two thirds of the more than 3,000 who dies from COVID-19 were also unvaccinated! More aggressive measures must be taken such as no employment for the unvaccinated, docking of pay, suspension without pay or something must be done to overcome this state of affairs, in both adults and adolescents,” analyst Leap Chanthavy said.

This is exactly why people like myself would never go for a test unless it really was a last resort. You're much better off just staying at home and hoping you're one of the 99% that will pull through without much of a problem and be back at work within a week or so.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never allow the dumb ones to lead the pack.
