Whatzup - Breaking Cambodia Covid News on Outbreaks and Lockdowns

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

4 deaths reported of each of the two last articles. First article, 2 of them not vaccinated, and all 4 in the next article not vaccinated. But I seem to be reading the situation for sometime, being a 50/50 outcome that is not very comforting.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

If it's 50/50 the odds are well in favor of the vaccinated given the number of vaccinated people seriously outweighs the unvaccinated with a factor 5 or more.

AKP Phnom Penh, November 28, 2021 --

Cambodia received this evening 188,160 doses of U.S.-made Moderna COVID-19 vaccine via COVAX Facility.

The vaccine’s arrival was welcomed at Phnom Penh International Airport by H.E. Dr. Yuok Sambath, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health; Dr. Li Ailan, WHO Representative in Cambodia; and Ms. Foroogh Foyouzat, Representative of UNICEF in Cambodia.

Speaking to reporters at the airport, they encouraged Cambodians to get vaccinated and continue to stick to the health safety rules, especially the Three Dos, Three Don’ts measure.

According to H.E. Dr. Yuok Sambath, more COVID-19 vaccines will arrive in Cambodia before the end of this year.

With the newly arrived vaccines, Cambodia has now more than 40 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from purchases and donations: 7,800,000 doses of Sinopharm, 29,124,800 doses of Sinovac, 2,063,000 doses of AstraZeneca, 1,064,600 doses of Johnson & Johnson, and 188,160 doses of Moderna.
