'The project aiming to turn Pol Pot’s place of death into a site for healing.'

Breaking news from Cambodia can be found here. CEO often finds Khmer news and translates it into English for our readers if it is interesting to expats, locals, Cambodians living abroad and anyone who wants to stay informed of the latest local and international news stories about Cambodia and our neighbors in South East Asia. There are many sources for Khmer news articles and they can all be found here in one place. Most of the media comes out of Phnom Penh, Siem Reap or Sihanoukville, but we cover national Cambodian news from all provinces.

'The project aiming to turn Pol Pot’s place of death into a site for healing.'

Worth a read, there's an interesting map in there of 'The Golden Thread' of Khmer Rouge heritage sites. Not sure what I think of the building shown that might house Pol Pots grave, apart from it could make an amazing school in a slightly different location.

This is a project that the Documentation Center of Cambodia are working in co-operation with.
As development pressure increases in the region, the “golden thread” of the Anlong Veng Trail will not only preserve important historical sites – it will also secure access to nature, biodiversity, recreation and cultural facilities for local people even as cities grow around it.
Anlong Veng was the final stronghold and place of death for Khmer Rouge leader Pol Pot. Today, it lacks sites formally commemorating its significance in Cambodian history, but a design firm, along with the Documentation Center of Cambodia, wants to change that
