Madoff did not complete his 150-year sentence

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

I hold it with this lady:
Stephanie Halio was watching television Wednesday morning at her home in Boca Raton, Florida, when the face of the man who she says turned her life into a nightmare flashed on the screen.

She quietly absorbed the news: Bernie Madoff, the convicted Wall Street swindler who orchestrated the largest Ponzi scheme in financial history, had died in prison at age 82.

"I'm really sorry he died," said Halio, 78. "I couldn't wish enough bad things on him. I'm sorry he died, because I would have wanted him to stay in prison for 100 years.

It was said he will die in prison, and he did. Never mind the number of years, a true life sentence.

He was ultra reliable for decades, and his main clients were charities etc. His funds paid out on demand every time, until ofc, it all came crashing down.

Like every skem in history; those who were out when it fell had profited well from it, but obviously some people got fucked harder than others, and then comes the media to put the "human" angle on the victims. Many bankruptcy cases, suicides, divorces etc

Interesting that it's widely thought that at least half the official losses never existed; madoff just fabricated them

Bernie Madoff’s sister and her husband found dead in apparent murder-suicide, police say

The elderly sister of the notorious late Wall Street Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff and her husband were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide at their Florida home last week, police said.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said on Sunday that deputies responded to a 911 call in Boynton Beach, Florida, on February 17 and discovered 87-year-old Sondra Wiener, and her 90-year-old husband, identified only as Marvin, dead from gunshot wounds.

According to the sheriff’s office, “Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division arrived on scene to investigate further. After further investigation it appears to be a murder/suicide.” It was not immediately clear what the motive was behind the incident or what led up to it.

Wiener’s son, David Wiener, told the New York Post in 2009 that his family was among those ripped off by Madoff.

“Yes, my family’s a victim. More so than anybody else. It’s very painful,” David Wiener told the news outlet.

An anonymous source told the New York Post at the time that Sondra Wiener “lost millions” as a result of her brother’s $65 billion Ponzi scheme.

The source estimated Sondra Wiener’s loss at $3 million.
