Vaccines and Your Experience

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. I think a lot of you guys are getting a nocebo effect. The thought of having been injected is what makes you feel faint immediately afterwards, not the injection/vaccine itself. Quite common, and obviously feeling sore is perfectly normal as well (you did get a needle jabbed inside you after all). My family members back home all got the Pfizer and zero side effects (just slight soreness at the site of the injection is what they said).

That's cute sweetheart. The thread is about post-vaccination side effects, which is a good topic as they are common in many people for pretty obvious reasons (though apparently not obvious to your presumably semi-literate ass?). I'm lucky in that I've never had a very adverse reaction to a vaccine. Either nada, ir a bit of discomfort at the injection site. I'm usually fine to play sports the same day.

My point regarding the number of vaccinations is that I've had some more usual ones (ex: how many here have had a shot for Japanese encephalitis?).

A bit hard on the dog population.

I for one am weary of seeing anti vax conspiracy nonsense here. It has been discredited outside certain cult circles.
There seems to be a predilection for name-calling and unprovoked use of insults in their ranks.

Guess most people who traveled to Asia 20+ years ago. Had it before going to India many years ago as a young(er) man. Was standard, but not free from my memeory.

I agree and sorry for taking the bait and stooping to a low myself. I don't mind thoughtful discussion regarding effectiveness, or the pros and cons of waiting under the current circumstances. However, the Bro-Science retorts of the sort above don't really lead to anything of substance.

Like, it's not exactly rocket science to understand vaccination side effects. To understand why they happen (whether shortly afterwards, or several days later as mentioned by the OP), you literally just need a high school diploma (if you paid attention), or access to the internet. This seems to blow 66's mind that the OP would notice effects a few days later and is somehow an indication of impeding doom. The OP obviously wanted to discuss similar/differing experiences depending on the vaccine taken, not a thinly veiled, semi-literate "lecture" on why he shouldn't have gotten vaccinated in the first place.

Jenner and Pasteur would be rolling their graves if they heard some of the stuff being spewed.

Vaccines and Your Experience

I had the AZ vaccine. Headache and low grade fever kicked in from about six hours afterwards and lasted a day. Plus fatigue and feeling a bit off. After two days I was ok.
I took extra aspirin for a few days as a lame attempt to minimise the blood clotting risk.
A friend who had the AZ jab at the same time experienced no symptoms other than a sore arm for a day.

I'm glad he's been banned. He was a hit and run artist; posted abuse and when replied to (and generally carved up) he never replied and just moved on to spout more crap on someone else.

Anyway, he's gone - good riddance.
