Was there a major policy change?
After the big bank robbery last year, the government reaffirmed their position that no bank guards would be allowed to carry firearms.
Anyone know anything?

It looks more like a plain clothes cop than a security guard.newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 12:51 am Was there a major policy change?

Did he get two shots off?
There was one at 1.11 which set the man running to him, but there seems to be a second shot while the cops turned to evade him, then he went down.

Does not look like a bank robber. Seems personal, or perhaps, a troubled mind. He surely knew there was no chance of getting any money. The accused looks much better trained than most bank security guards.
Edit:
Is it the same person who was holding the first knife? Hair and jeans look different. Maybe I just need more coffee...

Its a good job he was armed, otherwise it would quite likely have been him killed insteadnewkidontheblock wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 12:51 am Was there a major policy change?

It's quite common for off duty police officers to act as security guards for various institutions. Needless to say ABA will be copping a bit of flak for this as strictly speaking banks guards, whether police or not, are not meant to be carrying weapons.John Bingham wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 8:00 amIt looks more like a plain clothes cop than a security guard.newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 12:51 am Was there a major policy change?

Sure, I knew that but he wasn't dressed like a guard. I think banks can employ on-duty police as guards inside the bank, but I haven't seen a private security guard with a gun for years.AzalKH wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 1:55 pmIt's quite common for off duty police officers to act as security guards for various institutions.
