Sudden Storm in Poipet Destroys Houses and Market Stalls
Cambodia News, (Banteay Meanchey Province): In a sudden afternoon storm today, vendors' stalls were damaged and some were blown away by strong wind gusts at 3 pm on April 4, 2021 in Samaki Meanchey village, Poipet city.
Sources from the vendors at the scene said that about 3 o'clock on April 4, the sky grew dark, the wind was mixed with rain, thunder, lightning, and some stalls collapsed in the market area near the border.
Poipet Mayor Keat Hul said by telephone this evening that there were two damaged shops and confirmed that 14 houses were also damaged in Poipet, while 5 people were slightly injured today.
He added that at around 5 pm, the police began constructing some temporary shelters for the victims of the sudden storm.
