E-Cigs Go Up in Smoke
Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: On December 30, 2022, the General Department of Consumer Protection, Competition and Anti-Fraud (CPC) of the Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with the National Authority for Combating Drugs, burned 288 cartons of UOLO e-cigarette products, equivalent to 7,200 boxes, at the landfill in Khan Dangkor, Phnom Penh.
Mr. Heng Maly, Branch Manager of KPR Phnom Penh, confirmed that the e-cigarette products were found after the investigation officers of the General Department of PPR inspected a warehouse for distribution of a variety of products in Sangkat Khmuonh, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh in early November. The officers found and confiscated 3,600 boxes of UOLO e-cigarette products: 1,800 boxes of UOLO smoking machines and 1,800 boxes of UOLO filters and accessories.

Siem Reap E-Cigarette Seller Busted
Cambodia News, Siem Reap Province: According to the information from the General Commission of the National Police, on January 26, 2023, at 15:10, the Anti-Drug Bureau forces implemented administrative measures at a location in Vihear Chen village, Svay Dangkum commune, Siem Reap city, Siem Reap province, where a wholesaler was distributing e-cigarettes, and the authorities confiscated a total of 18 large cases and 47 small cases.
According to the authorities, they first contacted the business owner to tell him that he must stop importing and selling e-cigarettes and accessories from now on, but he did not heed the warning so they raided his shop and confiscated all his illegal goods.
