Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On March 19, 2021, a group of 6 gangsters were arrested for snatching a necklace from a young girl in Koh Krobey district, Sangkat Prek Thmie, Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh.

Mr. Kan Dyna, the deputy inspector, said the six suspects, all male teenagers, were identified as Kao Vichetthreach, 17 years old, Sok Thea, 17 years old, Bun Nareth, 17 years old, Aum Nimol, 17 years old, Pich Sievny, 16 years old, and Sok Viseth, 17 years old. The victim is identified only as a 17-year-old girl salon worker.


The deputy inspector reported that the victim and her friend rode a motorbike to a coffee shop, where six teenagers on three motorbikes suddenly drove up to the two girls and snatched the victim's necklace. As the thieves attempted to escape, the victim screamed for help. Fortunately, the local police patrol arrived, chased down the gang, and arrested six suspects.

The 6 youths are being detained at Khan Chbar Ampov police station for case preparation following the legal procedure.
