Drunk RCAF Driver Smashes Junkcart and Damages Shop

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On March 19, 2021, a drunk man, driving a Land Cruiser with RCAF plates, smashed into a junk cart, in front of a shop, on Hanoi road, Sangkat Teuk Thlar, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh.

According to the motorbike driver, who collects and delivers junk, he was driving his motorbike with the cart along Hanoi road from north to south, when a Landcruiser car, plate SKV3A-3099, smashed into his motorbike. He jumped from the motorbike, causing him to get slightly injured. With the impact, the junk cart was pushed into a shop, causing some damage, but no one was injured.

After the incident, the elderly car driver paid 80,000 riels ($20) to the motorbike driver. The shop owner requested that the car driver pay 600 USD for damage compensation, but the car driver was only able to pay 100 USD.
Both sides disagreed over the amount of compensation, so the police took the car away to keep at the police station, while the question is worked out between the two parties.
