Dealing with overstay
Dealing with overstay
Long story short my passport was stolen. I mean I could pay to get it back but it was cheaper to get a new one. Now have a new one but I'm in overstay. My usual agent won't deal with it and tells me to go to immigration. I'm worried if I do that I might end up being detained. Any ideas how this is usually dealt with?

Depends on how long you overstayed.

Re: Dealing with overstay
You never had a copy of your passport and visa?
Re: Dealing with overstay
I'm guessing immigration must have it on record when your visa expired so as long as you can cover the fine ($10 a day) you won't be detained. If they don't know when it expired, then I don't know... but as long as you have money you won't be getting locked up.

Get ready to take some strong words.. Use the word sorry

Problem is I will have to organize the money and possibly have my embassy despute their decission and I don't want to be detained while I do these things.LIVIDZX wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 5:21 pm I'm guessing immigration must have it on record when your visa expired so as long as you can cover the fine ($10 a day) you won't be detained. Yes, have your people talk to their people. That’ll sort it.fsdfdsdf wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 6:41 pmhave my embassy despute their decissionLIVIDZX wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 5:21 pm I'm guessing immigration must have it on record when your visa expired so as long as you can cover the fine ($10 a day) you won't be detained.
