As far as I know there is no charge for overstays for people on tourist visas caught by covid.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
Re: Dealing with overstay
update from Kim Lennox .. sadly no way around the $10.00 per day there is no such waver on overstay . so in a nut shell she is toast.
Re: Dealing with overstay
there is one way which is that you leave the country. probably be blacklisted for a year or two but you won't have to do prison or pay. This is quite an issue at the moment. Judging by the private messages I am getting and what the agent told me there are a lot of people in this position.
Re: Dealing with overstay
who is this agent that fixed your overstay ? why wont you say ?

How did she get new passport without showing her old one OR submitting a police report stating her old one was was lost ( never say stolen)?
With new passport she needs go to immigration to get her entry stamp from her old passport
so she wont be able to avoid overstay

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
Re: Dealing with overstay
She probably went in and said “lost my passport” and they gave her a new one. There is no universal requirement to show a police report. I’ve had a passport stolen before and got it replaced with no police report.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Tue Mar 30, 2021 3:05 pmMulti entry Extension not visaOzinasia wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 9:59 pm Thank you yeah she had a multi entry visa I took her to the Embassy but as expected they couldn't do anything but we did get her a new passport has no stamps in it . Some countries or some consular officers may ask for this. Some don’t.
Re: Dealing with overstay
I knew a Philippino that knew her he was working at the hotel, he is also out of work now, he introduced me thinking I maybe able to help her however $10.00 x that many months I cannot do .
She has zero funds and very poor family so no help coming from Philippines.
EX B/F has totally disappeared. She arrived on a multi entry visa.
We got the new passport once she found the old one that is now been punched she has a new passport no stamps.
Since we were told by an agent going to immigration without the funds to pay will result in arrest / jail it is not an option just now.

Re: Dealing with overstay
That’s sad. This is why the police interrogate young poor Filipinas trying to leave the country and refuse to let them on the plane if they are getting into a vulnerable situation.
Re: Dealing with overstay
yes even if she was able to get a job $10.00 is more then the pay she would earn so its a hole that will only get deeper.
