Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Speculation, but maybe the neighbor was asking the girl for 'a little something' to use his motorbike, or something similar. We don't know the whole story, but labelling the population of an entire country as retards is a bit
Spoiler:
retarded
simplistic IMO.

Instead of saying borrowed 3 times in the 1st post, why not use the word steal, which is what actually happened

Because, first she borrowed it, then she sold it, that's part of the story. They also used the word "scamming" (tomato/tomato).

Whatever happened, the girl most likely had a reason. I wouldn't jump to think that the neighbor was asking for favors, and much less that the girl is retarded, more that the girl was desperate for money for some reason, I wonder what it was. There are plenty of reasons in the current economy why people would need money, perhaps to help a family member. Sad thing is the girl won't get any help for her stupid and most likely desperate decision.

I'm guessing you're a lawyer :)

No your Honour, she didn't steal it, she just borrowed it to sell it :)

There may be something in the "borrowing" thing. Legally.
The legend (true??) in Oz is that if you reply to a vehicle For Sale notice, then the owner hands you the keys to take it for a drive around the block - if you don't come back the cops can't lift a finger.
It is a civil matter because if you were handed the keys, you just broke an agreement to return the car..
Selling it would be different tho'.
