Woman Poisons Rice Wine to Kill Off Violent Husband

Cambodia News (Thbong Khmum): On March 09, 2021, a 46-year-old woman, Lya Salim, poisoned her husband to death in Memoth district, Thbong Khmum. The victim was identified as Thon Khim, 36 years old.

The victim, who was an alcoholic, always caused violence every day in his family and beat up his wife. One day she decided that she couldn't take any longer, so she put poison in her husband's rice wine, and he died a horrible death.

After the incident, the police prepared the suspect's case and sent her to the court to follow the legal action.

So sad. No help for mental health and domestic violence in the boonies, and then someone cracks. I can understand that sometimes it must be a matter of "it's him or it's me" for victims of regular violence, but that doesn't make it right.

I agree with you & you are right.

But the overwhelming results of horrific domestic abuse such as this... it escalates to murder. She defended herself and her children. And now sadly she will pay the price.
