My friend from PP went visit friend in Pailin 2 days ago. No checks all the way. But when he arrived to friend"s house, 30 minutes later 8-9 uniformed man came and told them that they all have to stay home 14 days in self quarantine. They come to check them daily.

Thank you, is this friend a foreigner or a Khmer?Chuck Borris wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 2:15 pm My friend from PP went visit friend in Pailin 2 days ago. No checks all the way. Of course, it’s illogical, but these things make a difference.

Re: Health checkpoint at Siem Reap/Kampong Thom
Every province has different rules and regulations regarding Covid-19. The governor of Pailin province announced some strict measures a few days ago, so this may be specific to the province, and does not necessarily relate to Kratie or Stung Treng. However, keep in mind that the rules can change at any moment.daeum_tnaot wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 5:36 pmThank you, is this friend a foreigner or a Khmer?Chuck Borris wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 2:15 pm My friend from PP went visit friend in Pailin 2 days ago. If you post info here, please be specific. There's too much gossip going around already.

You don't really want to be paying a visit to the Cambodian in-laws then.Chuck Borris wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 8:04 pmBarang.daeum_tnaot wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 5:36 pmThank you, is this friend a foreigner or a Khmer?Chuck Borris wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 2:15 pm My friend from PP went visit friend in Pailin 2 days ago. I went to Siem Reap from PP on a night bus on Friday night last week and returned on the Saturday leaving Siem Reap at 5:30pm and we wasn't stopped at any check point.
I'll be heading once again to Siem Reap tonight on a night bus and planning to return on Sunday late afternoon so I will keep you posted.

Re: Health checkpoint at Siem Reap/Kampong Thom
I traveled up National road 6 today and didn’t notice any thing unusual. Police were only stopping trucks.
My wife took a minivan, and as they don’t have many passengers some of the normal drivers canceled. There was only one remaining but it was still running.

No issues but ended up getting the night bus back to PP on Sunday night as I left booking an afternoon bus late. I did hear that the Covid case in Siem Reap was from someone who travelled up on a Lyratta bus and there were some of those available, but I opted for the night bus instead.Bong Kri wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 11:23 am I went to Siem Reap from PP on a night bus on Friday night last week and returned on the Saturday leaving Siem Reap at 5:30pm and we wasn't stopped at any check point.

Siem Reap do seem to be taking the new cases very seriously there. Whole streets were closed by army guarding all day and night around the areas that the infected person was known to have visited.
