Covid - 20 Feb - are you changing your habits?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I was just wondering if people were beginning to take this a lot more seriously...

I think I'm suffering from terror fatigue right now. I was pretty alarmed by it all last year when it all first started (weren't we all?) but my fear has slowly waned since then and I just can't bring myself to allow my life to be dictated by it any more.

I realise it's here in Cambodia, probably spreading much quicker and easier than we're led to believe, that it's probably a variant of bigger concern and it will still be some time before I get a vaccine in my arm, but aside from wearing a mask in public and washing my hands with gel before I go into anywhere that has the facility to do so, I don't know what else I could or should do. I'm beyond caring to be honest. I'd rather take my chances and live a reasonably normal life than merely exist behind a sealed up door until I'm invited for a vaccine.

Considering it's the worst outbreak Cambodia's yet had, I am taking the same care I have for most of the last 12 months. Fewer social visits though now.

I try to avoid travel and congested places wherever I can. I also wear a face mask when outdoors.

I'm staying at home more, less drinking in bars of an eve. That's about it! Other habits are the same as they have been the past 12 months.

I didn't change anything aside from Dusting off my old Nokia so I can't be made to scan these QR codes that are popping up everywhere...

We were already wearing masks when going to the grocery store - so its pretty much "life as normal" as far as that goes. I would say I've seen a bit fewer people out and about when I've been to the store and gym.

I just make sure I have a mask "at the ready", but haven't changed anything else.
